Beachwood Pointe Offers Outside Visitation for Nursing Home Residents and Loved Ones

August 17, 2020
Beachwood, Ohio - Beachwood Pointe Care Center is eager to begin allowing outside face to face visitations starting on Tuesday, August 18th. We understand that you and your loved one will benefit from seeing each other in person.

To ensure safety for all visit participants, we have set up the guidelines outlined below. Your cooperation and adherence to these instructions is greatly appreciated and necessary for us to continue to allow these visitations.

Outdoor Visitation Instructions:

  • At this time, visits can be scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We ask you to limit visits to 45 minutes so that all residents and families have an opportunity to visit with each other (down the line we plan to open evening and weekend face to face visit times)
  • Visits can be scheduled for the following times: 10:00-10:45AM, 11:00AM-11:45AM, 1:30-2:15PM, 2:30-3:15PM and 3:30-4:15PM each visit day. We have three stations set up, so three residents can receive visitors at each time slot.
  • There will be a maximum of 3 family members allowed for visiting each resident.
  • All family members report to the front door and will be screened prior to the visit using the facility's screening checklist, which includes checking the temperature. If a visitor's screen indicates signs, symptoms, or possible exposure to COVID-19, then the visit may be canceled.
  • Both the resident and the family members will sanitize their hands at the start of the visit with hand sanitizer provided by the facility.
  • No touching residents at all and 6' feet distance must be maintained the entire visit. Not cooperating with this can lead to permanent revoking of face to face visitation rights.
  • All family members and the resident will need to wear masks. The resident will be provided with masks by the facility. The family members are responsible for bringing their own masks.
  • Visits will take place behind the facility on the outdoor courtyard to maintain social distancing. There is a tent provided for shade.
  • A staff member will assist your loved one to the visitation area and supervise to ensure a contact-free visit.
  • When the visit concludes, the resident and family members will sanitize their hands. A staff member will escort your loved one inside.
  • Please park in a parking spot; please do not park under the overhang above the front entrance.
  • Face to Face visits are preferred over window visits, and will be a better visiting experience for everyone. All window visits on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays will be put on hold until further notice.

Our goal is to ensure every resident has had an opportunity to visit with his/her loved ones before we begin scheduling second visits. Also, please note that visits may need to be canceled and rescheduled due to weather (i.e., excessive heat) or other circumstances (i.e., COVID test results). Resident safety is our primary objective.

We understand you and your loved one are eager to see each other, and we are excited to be able to offer outdoor visitation. To ensure safety for everyone, and to ensure that we can continue to offer outdoor visitation, we would like to reiterate that all restrictions outlined above must be maintained throughout the visit.

To schedule a visit, please call the facility at 216-464-1000 and our receptionist with assist you.

We look forward to reuniting you and your loved ones.

Brian G. Holzheimer, LNHA
